Obra Maestra - Today's Brilliant Contemporary and Modern Artist for Literature: Madame Fendiye Nihali Dinc

Madame Fendiye Nihali Dinç, a poetess whose words echo the soul of Anatolia, was born on August 1, 1968, in the quaint town of Harmandalı, Ortaköy, Aksaray, Türkiye. Her life is a testament to the transformative power of poetry and the enduring beauty of cultural heritage. A devoted wife and mother of three, Fendiye has seamlessly woven her personal journey with her artistic pursuits, creating a legacy that resonates deeply with readers and listeners alike.

Fendiye’s love affair with poetry began during her middle school years, a time when her young heart found solace and expression in the rhythm of words. Initially drawn to free verse, she soon discovered the allure of rhyme and syllabic patterns, immersing herself in the rich tradition of Anatolian folk poetry. This early exploration laid the foundation for a lifelong passion that would see her evolve into one of Türkiye’s cherished literary voices.

Her first major literary endeavor was a long-term novel titled *Kalbi Kırık Hayaller* (*Broken-Hearted Dreams*), a work that captured the complexities of human emotions and relationships. The novel marked the beginning of Fendiye’s journey as a published author, showcasing her ability to delve into the depths of the human experience. Following this, she dedicated herself to the creation of her second book, *Gönülden Kaleme Sırlar* (*Secrets from the Heart to the Pen*), a collection of poems that brought her lyrical voice to the forefront of Turkish literature.

Fendiye’s poetry is deeply rooted in the traditions of her homeland, yet it carries a universal appeal that transcends cultural boundaries. Her works have been featured in numerous anthologies, earning her a place among the celebrated poets of her time. Many of her poems have been notated and composed into classical and folk music, a testament to their melodic quality and emotional depth. Through her verses, Fendiye captures the essence of life, love, and longing, inviting readers to embark on a journey of introspection and connection.

In recognition of her contributions to the literary world, Fendiye was bestowed with the pen name “Nihali” by İbrahim Özdemir, a researcher and writer from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Türkiye. This name, steeped in the tradition of Anatolian folk poets, symbolizes her deep connection to her cultural roots and her commitment to preserving and celebrating the poetic heritage of her homeland.

Fendiye’s dedication to her craft extends beyond her own writing. As a member of the Kırşehir Writers and Poets Association, she actively engages with the literary community, fostering a spirit of collaboration and mutual inspiration. Her involvement in the International Union of Writers and Poets, which she joined in 2023, further underscores her commitment to promoting poetry on a global scale.

In 2024, Fendiye was honored with the title of “People’s Poet” by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Türkiye, a recognition that reflects her profound impact on the hearts and minds of her readers. Her accolades also include awards from international competitions celebrating the works of literary icons such as Cengiz Aytmatov and Baybars Sultan. These achievements highlight her ability to bridge the past and present, weaving timeless themes into her contemporary works.

Despite her numerous accomplishments, Fendiye remains deeply grounded and dedicated to her craft. Her syllabic lyrical poems, characterized by their emotional resonance and rhythmic beauty, aim to create a sense of unity with her readers. Through her words, she seeks to build bridges of understanding and empathy, fostering a sense of shared humanity.

Fendiye Nihali Dinç’s life and work are a celebration of the enduring power of poetry to inspire, heal, and connect. Her journey, marked by passion, perseverance, and a deep love for her cultural heritage, serves as an inspiration to aspiring poets and writers. "İZLERİN KALSIN"

By: Fendiye Nihali Dinc

Gerçeği az olup pek çoğu yalan,

Vurduğun yaralı sözlerin kalsın.

Hatıra diyerek elimde kalan,

Dönüpte baktığın gözlerin kalsın.

Mademki vedasız ayrıldık yine,

Belliki dertlerim çıkacak bine,

Lanetler okunsun tarihli güne,

Gittiğin yolunda tozların kalsın.

Kıyametler kopsun yıkılsın yörem,

Girdaba düşeyim tükensin çarem,

Sönmesin içimde mahşerlik çıram,

Yüreğimi yakan közlerin kalsın.

Seninle öğrendi sevmeyi aşkı,

Gönül işlerinde olur mu kuşku,

Yabana kapalı mabedi köşkü,

Dokunma yürekte gizlerin kalsın.

Açmaya tedirgin bir gonca gülüm,

İsmine yasaklı biçare dilim,

Nihali korkar mı tez gelsin ölüm,

Benimle gömülen izlerin kalsın.
