Obra Maestra - Today's Brilliant Artist of Contemporary and Modern Visual Arts: Ram Krishna Agrawal

I am very glad to have met and become friends with a very promising and prolific visual artist from India, he is no other than the creative Sir Ram Krishna Agrawal.

Sir Ram Krishna Agrawal is an Indian national, a science graduate by education but time has brought him in the Fashion Industry.

By Profession, he is in Clothing Industry, started his career as a Fashion designer, and later on gradually promoted to different levels. But by Passion, he is an Artist, a self-taught Painter.

Painting is his biggest hobby, which has turned up as his second profession. It is his medication to heal himself from his  frustrations. He believes creativity has no limit and he wants to be limitless.

He started doing abstract forms in the beginning, as he was highly impressed with the works of Picasso, did landscapes but after so many years he is now working on Indian folk and tribal arts like MADHUBANI and GOND. He is working on these arts in a modified way using watercolours/ acrylic colours and different pens, mixing new ideas and concepts with these traditional/tribal arts forming FUSION ART of his own signature style using updated tools to promote and to glorify INDIA.

He has participated in numerous online art exhibitions in his home country India and across the globe. He has participated in many offline group art exhibitions across the globe and have been honoured with many awards and accolades.

He is also India book of record holder in  2024 for receiving maximum number of certificates and awards in art activities.

His "obra maestra" is a visual artwork or painting entitled FACES. The painting depicts the Indian dance from Kathakali. Water colour and pen were  used as medium to create this masterpiece on 300 gsm paper. The use of vibrant colours and details has added strength to the creation of the Kathakali Indian dance.

Kathakali comes from southwestern India, around the state of Kerala. Like Bharatanatyam, kathakali is a religious dance. It was traditionally used to perform the stories of Mahabharata and Ramayana, but Kathakali now performs a variety of stories. Kathakali emerged as a distinct genre of performance art during the 16th and 17th centuries in Kerala. Kathakali provides a window into the past and an opportunity to understand the ancient heritage that has been preserved for centuries in the Kathakali plays.

Artist Name: Ram Krishna Agrawal

Dance form: Kathakali

What I love about the " Faces" visual masterpiece is the interplay of colors and the artistic prowess that Sir Ram Krishna Agrawal delivered in creating this "obra maestra". The painting has all the details that reflect the cultural and religious significance of the artwork. Such a lovely visual feast, culturally and religiously relevant masterpiece.
