Obra Maestra - Today's Brilliant Contemporary and Modern Artist for Literature: Dr Md Ejaj Ahamed

ln the heart of Mahendrapur, a humble village nestled within the Aurangabad region of Murshidabad district, West Bengal, India, the world welcomed a soul destined to leave indelible marks upon the realms of literature and peace. On the 26th of February 1990, Md Ejaj Ahamed was born to his loving parents, Md Samsuddin Biswas and Matiyara Bibi. His journey from modest beginnings to becoming a beacon of hope and creativity stands as a testament to the power of resilience and an unyielding spirit.

From his earliest days, Ejaj's life was defined by his ability to navigate hardships with determination and grace. Financial struggles might have cast shadows over his family, but his dreams burned brightly against the odds. Even as a young boy, he found solace in the written word, discovering a world where limitations faded and possibilities abounded. His unwavering dedication to his education laid the foundation for a future brimming with promise.

Ejaj pursued English Honours during his collegiate years, balancing the weight of academic rigors with the passion for creative expression. During this time, his bilingual talents came to life as his Bengali-English poems and essays were featured annually in the college magazine, *Ayon*. The pages of the publication resonated with his poignant verses, capturing glimpses of both the struggles and triumphs of his own experiences, as well as the broader human condition.

Armed with remarkable perseverance and an insatiable thirst for knowledge, Ejaj achieved a staggering array of academic qualifications. With triple MAs, a B.Ed, and a D.El.Ed to his name, his educational journey is a testament to his ceaseless quest for growth. His path as an educator began in 2008, where he dedicated himself to nurturing young minds in private schools and coaching centers. His efforts bore fruit in February 2024, when he embarked on a new chapter as a teacher at Shaikhpara Primary School under the West Bengal Government.

Yet Ejaj’s identity extends far beyond the classroom. As a writer, poet, and journalist, he has woven together a tapestry of words that transcend borders and touch hearts worldwide. His works, spanning essays, poetry, and research articles, have graced the pages of countless magazines, journals, newspapers, and anthologies. A true wordsmith, his creations have been translated into an astounding 17 languages, including Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Turkish, Italian, and more. Through his words, he fosters a global community united by shared human experiences.

His literary repertoire boasts a collection of Bengali masterpieces, such as *Swopno Tori* (*Dream Boat*), *Maner Pandulipi* (*Manuscript of Mind*), and *Hrid-canvas* (*Heart-canvas*). With creations like *Selected Bengali Poems for Humanity & Peace*, Ejaj’s words transcend artistry, becoming vessels of compassion and advocacy. His research articles, too, illuminate profound topics, shedding light on trends in English literature and education.

A tireless advocate for artistic collaboration, Ejaj has held numerous editorial roles, including serving as the chief editor of *Swapner Vela Sahitya Patrika* (*The Raft of Dreams Literary Magazine*). His dedication to uplifting voices from India and Bangladesh is evident through his editorial projects, such as *Kabitar Akash* (*The Sky of Poetry*), *Kabitar Aranya* (*The Forest of Poetry*), and *Kabitar Sagar* (*The Sea of Poetry*). As a journalist for *The Qadri Times* and *Puspaprovat* news portal, he continues to weave narratives that inspire change.

The accolades bestowed upon Ejaj’s work are as vast as they are prestigious. From being named an *Ambassador of Peace* by WLFPH to earning honorary doctorates from institutions across the globe, his contributions have resonated in places as far as Egypt, Morocco, and China. In January 2025, he was honored with the title of *The International Best of the Year 2024* by China’s *International Poetry Translation and Research Centre*. His unwavering commitment to peace and humanity is echoed by his affiliations with organizations like the International Peace Ambassadors Academy (Egypt), Feather and Extender Humanity Academy (Turkey), and many more.

Ejaj’s poetic brilliance has also shone brightly in international competitions. In 2023, he secured second place in the *Universal Poetry Cup* organized by Romania’s *World Literary Art Impression Magazine*. His accolades from the Egyptian *International Organization for Ambassadors of Peace and Humanities* and the SAARC Human Rights Foundation further underscore his profound impact as both a poet and humanitarian.

Through his life’s work, Ejaj has demonstrated that poetry is more than mere words on a page—it is a powerful medium for empathy, understanding, and change. His innovative forms, like the *Ejajan Poem* and *Science Poem*, reflect his commitment to expanding the boundaries of literary expression. As an ambassador for world peace and a certified sustainability officer, his efforts remind us all of our shared responsibility to one another and to the planet we call home.

Today, Dr. Md Ejaj Ahamed stands as a living testament to the transformative power of art, education, and compassion. He has proven that even the most humble beginnings can give rise to a legacy of greatness, as long as one dares to dream and work tirelessly in the name of humanity. His story, written with ink of perseverance and colored by the hues of kindness, inspires countless others to forge their own paths, undeterred by the challenges that life may present.

As the world celebrates his achievements, Ejaj remains anchored in his purpose—to give voice to the voiceless, to bridge divides through words, and to sow seeds of peace in the hearts of all. Through his journey, he leaves a luminous trail for future generations to follow, proving that one heart, one voice, and one pen can indeed change the world.

"The Earth's Sorrow"

By: Md Ejaj Ahamed

I am called a blue planet,

I am seen blue from the firmament

For my watery organs

By which I shade animals and plants

Like fondling mothers.

But my heart is now blue for sorrow.

My human-sons have been harming me for years

Although I nurture, provide living-shadow.

In my eyes with tears

I always wish my sons well,

I always pray to Almighty for my children

To be happy and at peace to remain

Yet I have a few good sons

Who try to cure me, for me make revolutions;

I believe that they can win.
